Bcc:Wife <[Step Mother’s email]@[email].com> Ms. [therapist in other state];
After corresponding with [The Ex] today, she expressed her want for your assistance in regards to her need for supervision, as well as your guidance as Parental Coordinator. I will be in [other state] on November 19 and 20th to meet with Dr. [Court Appointed Psychologist]. This forensic evaluation is to allay the fears of [The Ex] in regards to her demands of supervised visitation.
If we could use your assistance to maybe facilitate this last supervised visit by acting as an “parental evaluator” and supervisor. It is my understanding that you will need to witness and evaluate [daughter]’s and my interaction for your report when we all agree to your role in our case. I understand it is short notice but with [The Ex]’s forthcoming authorization, could we schedule something on November 20th which could ultimately settle two concerns at once? I will incur any charges for this specific meeting/evaluation.
[Custodial Dad]
Attached is [The Ex]’s email dated November 17, 2008 in regards to your assistance:
Hi, [Custodial Dad].
VISITS: WILL FOLLOW AS BELOW
1. Nov. 19th- [Second visitation Supervisor] will have [daughter] at 4PM and will return N when she needs to leave the [MALL].
2. Nov 20th- [Second visitation Supervisor] will have [daughter] at [restaurant]’s at 9AM and will return her after your 10PM end time.
Vehicular Transportation:
1. Request for staying at [MALL] suggested to allow time for activities at swings, playground, bookstore, ice-cream parlor. It is a normalized setting with which [daughter] is familiar and loves.
No affront to your records intended.
Sorry for your misinterpretation. Please pardon.
Dinner for [daughter] AT NO COST TO YOU:
1. I understand that you will meet at [restaurant], HOWEVER, I will send pasta and meatballs for you and [daughter], and [Second visitation Supervisor] to share for dinner at the playground/ covered dining pavilion.
2. Any decision to incur costs for dinner is entirely up to you. IT IS CERTAINLY NOT NECESSARY TO PURCHASE DINNER (or anything for [daughter]), as I will provide a nutritious meal I’m sure you will all enjoy.
Ms. [therapist in other state]’s Assistance:
1. I will be happy to work with you to financially secure her assistance.
From that point on, I understand that she will be able and willing to work with us with provision of all consents and valid legal documents.
2. Please, let me know what your results are after your follow-up with her.
3. Please advise me of the fees which you require of me to foster expedient counseling/ guidance.
4. Please let me know your available dates to be in town, or meet with Ms. [therapist in other state] via phone conference.
thanksgiving 2008
1. Would be happy to make this visit possible.
2. Let me know the follow-up with your [home state] attorney as to the lack of necessity for supervision.
3. At any time, I am prepared to book tickets to bring [daughter] for her visit with her [last name] family, especially you, [spelled incorrectly Step Mother] and her darling siblings.
4. Please advise me of the [THIRD STATE ] location for the visit and of the contact number/email, valid credentials, location and availability of the supervisor for the visit, as supervision need is determined. Glad to work with all schedules in this holiday season.
[home state] Security:
I have Attorney [Ex’s third home state lawyer] in [home town]. We have no issue with [home state] courts.
However, feel free to provide any documents which you feel will allay any concerns you feel I may have.
Thanks.

All:
I am not sure that I am making myself clear; I keep asking the same question. I need to see a legal document naming me to this case. In what capacity am I assigned to this case? Therapist, Facilitator Supervisor for Visitation? I would appreciate some clarification on this point. I need to see a court order or mediation agreement faxed to: [XXX]. If I am not named on a legal document, I am unable to work this case. Please advise.
Thank you, [other state therapist]

[other state therapist],
There had been some dispute about what, if any, role you would play in this case, which is why there is no order yet. However, if I am reading the partie’ emails correctly, it appears that they are agreeing for you to be a parenting coordinator, and also to supervise a visitation today and tomorrow if you are available. The order for parenting coordination will need to be developed by [Ex’s first other state lawyer] and I, but if you are available for supervision then please work with the parties to coordinate. [Custodial Dad] is here today and tomorrow for a psych eval by [Court Appointed Psychologist], and wants to be able to spend time with his daughter. [Second visitation Supervisor] did one for them last month with no bad incidents.

All:
I appreciate the confidence of the parties, however it is my policy to only work these cases with the benefit of a court order. I hope the parties can agree on another supervisor, perhaps a friend or family member. I am not able to work this case under these circumstances.
All the best, [other state therapist]
