[Custodial Dad],

I am happy to accommodate your requests for contact.

[daughter] will set the pace and I will follow her lead.

I can continue to offer her opportunities to call you.

She is aware that she can call you at anytime.

When she request to speak with you, we call

Sometimes we reach you- other times she has left messages,

even when we have set times with you.

Relationships do take time to build... let us give her the time she needs.

I will continue to encourage contact through regular (paper) mail and photos sent to you.

She would really appreciate the picture you’ve promised

of the [last name]’s together on your February visit here.

The facts remain that [daughter] loves you and believes that you love her...

Let’s keep moving forward from here.

I think we’d all agree that web chats are going well on Sunday mornings.

God Bless.

Hi, [Custodial Dad] & [spelled incorrectly Step Mother]!

Thanks for setting up the option for “[webcam software]” downloading, [spelled incorrectly Step Mother]!

We are on for 8AM this morning.

This regular schedule seems reliable for both of us (I”m thinking the Mom’s!)

I hope to get a glimpse of the little ones today.

FYI:  You may nor may not have a long sesion with [daughter] today...

When I said:  “Remmeber [daughter], we web chat ith Dad tomorow...

[daughter] said... “ Ah, maybe later.. not tomorrow...”

So I said:

“ Well Dad has made time for you Sunday morning together ...

and we’ll get to see “little Brother” and “little Sissy”... (and sweet [sibling], of course)....

(Quite honestly.... I want to see the kids!.... pardon the delight... but it’s true:)

I will have her availabe for the chat.

[daughter] had lots of playdates, birthdays and afterschool events this week.

Don’t worry... I remember that you want to have her call..

I have said:  “hey, wanna call Dad now”.. a number of times... especially on her way to school.

She said, “ Nah... not right now... maybe later.”

-Then she just moves on to a story...”You know that Liala got three shots...”

(Liala is her teacher’s dog...

She has told me this story about 10 times with the same enthusiam..

so I respond as though I have never heard it before...

Just like the story that Paige went to a Hanna Montana concert!...

Guess she is a six year old, huh?)

I will be sure to put her through to you via phone, chat, “[webcam software]” this week also.

God Bless.
See you a in few minutes!

Dear [spelled incorrectly Step Mother],

Happy Mother’s Day! (x 4!)

Gods blessings for a long and joyful life with all your children.
I delight in [daughter] getting to know you better and her care for you as she grows.

She says se has two Mom’s.

She already identifies you fondly as her “other mother.” (How cute!)

Here are a few photos to open AFTER you open your Mother’s Day present from [daughter]! ;)

See you at 8AM on web cam!
Enjoy!

Hi, [Custodial Dad].
Got your e-mail just now.  (It is 10:50PM on Saturday night.)

No worries.

String of misunderstandings I would say; wouldn’t you?

[daughter] build her poodle and I put money on every gift card

available in the store so she could have the picture cards

in her purse!

It was cute and she was happy.

She was glad that you went on the site for her.

[daughter] can do virtual games and dress up via computer with you and the kids in real time on your chats.

You have offered a great option for fun communication!

Hats off to you, Dad!  (Kid is happy and loves you...

let’s move forward.)

Please understand there is NO expectation or obligation to spend any money on her.

[daughter] appreciates your time.

Got no text confirming Saturday cam in PM.

[daughter] wanted to sign up for skating lessons this session at the

ice rink and there is no phone service inside- beats me why... thick walls- insulation?

No e-mail access & no mail service on my cell phone when out.
(That’s why I ask for text messages.)

[daughter] wanted to stay at Build a Bear for most of the afternoon.
Sent you photos via phone mail since I did not know of any other options for us today.

8AM tomorrow is great...

If you guys choose, the boat kit with hammer is right here waiting for you to finish the building together.

Photos from [daughter] to [spelled incorrectly Step Mother] attached in this message.

Just to give a basis for them to connect.
Enjoy the snapshots. [daughter] would love to talk about them, I’m sure.

Good night.
God bless.

Good morning, [spelled incorrectly Step Mother] and [Custodial Dad]!
Thank you for the Build a Bear account.  We willl visit the site later today.

Friday call at [resturant]’s was a nice idea.  Glad we reached you.

But, as you can see, [daughter] has long -standing relationships with the staff there and is very occupied with socializing and greetings at dinner.  We can always try
that time slot again.  But my best guess is that time on web at 8am Sundays is focused and great for you guys to all bond.

For the weekend, how is this:

(Please text me via cell phone to let me know.)

1. Saturday call:  [Custodial Dad], why don’t you guys call us about 2pm or so?  We will answer and you can chat.

2. Saturday web cam:  We can do Saturday late afternoon before dinner to finish the boat

building with open time block for the chat, dependent on [daughter]’s wants at the time.

I have set aside the afternoon to be at home to allow time for the web cam session.

3. Sunday  regular web cam:  8AM is great!

Breakfast plans at [resturant]’s so...  the session is really for [daughter] to send good wishes and kisses to all!

Warm regards,
[The Ex]

(You are welcome to call me [The Ex] if you choose.)

Enjoy you blessed day also.

I will not be having other children,

so I hope you don’t mind if I randomly send little outfits or books for your little ones.

(I’m a “sale-only” shopper and the prices here are great - $2-3 for famous label children’s clothes!)

I’m glad for a chance to move forward with [daughter]’s adorable family you’ve given her.

Look for photos on Sunday - but ONLY after you open your gift! ;)

We will web with you guys on Sunday AM to stay consistent for the little ones.

God Bless.

Good morning, [Custodial Dad] and [spelled incorrectly Step Mother].

Glad you got the package for Grandma and [spelled incorrectly Step Mother].

Please, let Grandma know she can also web cam with

[daughter] before mass on Sundays- anytime she is ready.

Glad [daughter] was able to reach you before school on

Thursday morning to announce that  earrings are in!

Thanks for mirroring her enthusiasm.

A call tonight ~6PM is great- thanks for agreeing.

Before bed at 7:30PM Saturday night web chat

should be fun for you guys!

You get to see “Jose” (joe-zee) robot! (A [daughter] build!)

To be consistent,

let’s keep the Sunday AM web cam session so [daughter]

can see the “Cute Crew” and say Happy Mother’s Day

to [spelled incorrectly Step Mother].

Maybe you can open the package while on cam together?

See if it is feasible.  Any way it works out is OK.

[daughter] will be delighted for it all!

No rush, but FYI- we will have Sunday breakfast out at

[resturant]’s so take your time to chat on Saturday.

Sailboat you started building with [daughter] is ready to

be finished; Hammer and all!

(Father’s Day is around the corner...

thought you might like to have it as a gift...

Please act surprised when she sends it to you!)

Warm regards,

Hello, [last name]s!

Glad we caught you to talk with [daughter] this week, [Custodial Dad].

Friday was just to share her fair at school.
She was excited, so we thought you’d want to hear her version of things!

Saturday was just a post-pinata joy!
[daughter] thought it was great that you had a similar day of birthdays and car rides!

After the call she quickly revisited our PM agenda of craft chopping and (more) pizza!

Seems like the phone calls are fun!  Glad for you both.

Thanks for your texts and emails this week.

We want to reach you when you are available to [daughter].

But, please understand that it is OK if we call impromptu and you are busy.

[daughter] and I have talked about time frames and activities for you guys at home/ work, etc.

She’s understanding as she also watches the time to secure timely arrival to play dates, birthdays, Children’s Theater, etc.!

I respect that 7AM is not good to extend Sunday morning and that Saturday is not a good day for you at this time.

Please let us know when/if that changes.

We will continue to call you for [daughter] to chat.

At this juncture, calls to you are my suggestion as I evaluate her enthusiasm about something in her day.  I say, “Hey, wanna tell Dad?”  So then we try your phone.

I have made sure [daughter] has had a strong belief in your care and love for her.

She knows that you not having time at a random call is separate from that.

And I think you do a good job of saying:  “Daddy really wants to listen to your story, but can I call you back..or call me later etc.” It is good.

[daughter] just states to me: “We can call Dad later, Mom.”  or “He’ll call back soon.”

For the most part, it seems that it is working well.

Well, on to today... sending attached instructions for a boat building  mini kit.

Thought you may want the option of building it with [daughter].  (Not mandatory at all.)

Check e-mail for photos later this week.

See you at 8AM.

God Bless.

Hello, [Custodial Dad] and Mrs. [last name].

Hope all is well.

Please inform: Did you set up another e-mail account for me to use for [daughter] to web cam?

[daughter] was happy to have 2 -way communication last Sunday through [email] messenger.

I will again use [the ex email]@[email].com, since it is working well.

Will gladly accommodate any “tech-updates” from you guys.

Why don’t we extend the time for the web chat?

[daughter] is awake very early in the morning.

I will be happy to facilitate your web session with her at 7AM Sunday, beginning May 4th.

She will be delighted!  As it is, she wakes up and we await the set 8AM time for her to connect with you all.

Warm greetings to all.

God Bless.

We hope you like it!  Please, let us know when you receive it.

Please take a photo of yourself for [daughter] to have.
As I have shared with you guys on e-mail, we are putting together more “[daughter]’s family” scrapbooks.

We gladly await pictures and any little stories you want to have written under the photos.

There is a way to have the books duplicated.

I will look into that and will get you a copy when we have it all put together.

I wish you a peaceful and blessed day.

Hi, [Custodial Dad].
[daughter] was glad to be able to chat with the kids and you this morning!

(I overheard your other little Princess and Prince- how cute they are!)

I’m glad you were able to color with her at the PBS kids site.

I thought she’d enjoy “live” web interaction with “Dad” & her favorite Dragon Tales characters.

Figured the Little Ones could enjoy the colorful pictures and familiar faces, too.

Of course, we can try again before Sunday.

There should be nothing wrong with wed cam set up here.

Clearly, you can guess that I’ve had two professional web consults advise me,

since technology often needs expert verification!

Anyhow, enjoy your day together.  Thanks for taking [daughter]’s second call

We changed our plans to a later mass so you could talk longer today.

Just thought you might be free the 2nd round to get on-line with her.  She was delighted!

God Bless.  Warm regards to Mrs. [last name] and the sweet Little Ones.
We’re off to [city in other state]!

Hi, [Custodial Dad].

I understand from your e-mail just now

that you will not be able to web-cam

today at 8AM,

as scheduled with you in [daughter]’s call to you last Sunday(3/30/08).

Let’s just stick to e-mail for future scheduling.  OK?

I can have [daughter] call your cell phone around 8:15AM.

No worries.  [daughter] will understand the change in format.  It’s OK.

For next week(4/13/08), I will have [daughter] available for web cam at 8:00AM on Sunday.

Please let me know by Friday if you will not be available.

We can plan to have breakfast out instead.

( I’ve told [daughter]... she sends “hugs and kisses” to the [home state] home crew!)

Thanks much.
God Bless.

I will gladly try to e-mail pictures , if you can get those images well,  Let me know.

For now, I will have [daughter] show you her work on the web chat this morning.

[daughter]’s work sent to you is for you to share with Grand-ma and keep.

We will be off to church with [daughter]’s classmates at 8:30AM.

[The Ex]
I think that as the adults we should set the schedule, as is typically ordered by the courts.  Children should have no place in dictating visitation or contact and is
customarily frowned upon by most Judges.  I can use the example of my step son [sibling].  He is required each night to call his father within a prescribed time—some
days the conversation is short but some days its longer, it is all dependent upon his mood and he dictates the length however the time is prescribed by a Judge.

This allows him consistency to know that at this particular time, this is going to happen just as a schedule is established in school. Of course just as I allow that
[daughter] may call me at any time day or night [sibling] also has the option to contact his father above and beyond the court-prescribed time. I think by including me
in [daughter]’s routine she would be more apt to calling more frequently but for her sake there must be a schedule, as you point out she is only six years old.
Please understand that I in no way wish to force her into a conversation but allow her some consistency and reliability in a situation that is truly unpleasant for all
of us.  It is truly unfortunate that we are all in a situation in which [daughter] has to re-establish a relationship with me.  Without pointing fingers as to why we
are here, we might as well get accustomed to what the court is going to order in the very near future by showing that we can indeed co-parent our daughter together.
My question, again, is to what [daughter] intends to do for the summer.  I understand that this situation is a huge adjustment for you but the inevitable is that
[daughter] will be here and I think for [daughter]’s sake, we’d all better get used to the idea and in this instance begin planning for her visit to her [home state]
home. I can arrange for her to join her brother in Summer Camp for at least part of the summer if that is acceptable to you.
Lastly, I have received no confirmation as to [daughter]’s address.  Like I have stated repeatedly, the last items sent were refused by [daughter]’s Great Grandmother
stating she has no contact with you nor [daughter].  The package including several photos are ready to go however I do need a confirmed address for [daughter].  I’m
not trying to withhold things from [daughter] and as a substitute, I will include a digital copy of the photo for her temporarily.

Thank you for your call this morning, as to Text-ing I have no clue why you could not get through, I appreciate your efforts with [daughter] and my contact... as to
the suggested schedule of (daily) evening/bedtime cell/phone contact between 6 and 7 pm I think this will be an excellent start... I also look forward to her calling
me at any time that she deems worthy ... and of course the web chats are an additional bonus.... I can/will assume we are still “on” for a [webcam software] call this
Sunday morning?
Thank you again

[The Ex],

I am stating here (kind of a for-the-record-deal) that I will send mail to the [other state address] Ave. address that is listed as your Grandmothers, this is per you
from the phone conversation we had, that said; while I enjoyed the very brief chat with [daughter] last night, the timing was painfully awkward.  [daughter] seemed
quite confused why she had to speak with me at dinner time and we both ([daughter] and I) re-assured each other she could call me back but I received no such call You
and I had, I thought, agreed to a pre-bedtime-daily-chat... peppered with her calls as ‘she sees fit’... Again, in these situations having a scheduled contact would
eliminate those awkward moments and will always ensure that I am available to take her call and further ensure that she can speak with me (whatever the length)
I want to be perfectly clear when I say that I would like to be a part of [daughter]’s life in [other state].  Can you provide me with the name of her school?  I
realize the year is nearly over however I’d like to see her progress thus far and obtain copies of her report cards.  It just dawned on me that I have no idea what
grade she is in, Counting backwards; I am assuming Kindergarten unless she has somehow ‘tested higher’ and been bumped!?!
I will again address Summer  I understand that you have made some arrangements and general plans for [daughter] for the summer but it is readily apparent that I (and
her family in [home state]) are obviously and painfully omitted from the equation.  There is a summer camp here ([home town] Kids) that [sibling] has done every year
that I am able to get [daughter] into, also [sibling] does several activities at the YMCA and [daughter] could join him there as well.  ([daughter] had mentioned those
two specific items in a previous conversation.)  Since April of this year, the contact that you have initiated has opened a wonderful trend and I think this summer, a
plan of visitation ought to be implemented as well.  We are consistently moving forward... albeit slowly... but by continuing the progress to include visitation, it
will be clear that we are all working in [daughter]’s best interest.
I look forward to tonights bedtime call (maybe even a story!?!!) and I’ll assume a phone call Saturday at/about the same bed-ish-time; while of course our web-chat
with [daughter] on Sunday Morning is now something of a ‘family-affair’.

Hey, [Custodial Dad].
Hope all is well.

Attempted to call this AM.
This PM can be delayed... I can call when we can, but please don’t expect a call in the

6-7 pm window as we were able to do other days this week.

Thanks for the flexibility.

Prepare for photos and your Father’s Day present... check mail:)

Hi, [Custodial Dad] and [spelled incorrectly Step Mother].

There is a great book recommended by families in similar situations that is just GREAT!

It is full of great ideas for me.

I thought that maybe you guys would like a chance to review it, if you haven’t already.

Here is the ISBN #:0-939894-02-5
Author: George Newman
Publisher: Blossom Valley Press, AZ
e-mail: argonne@azstarnet.com

Let me know if you like it!

Kind regards,
[The Ex]

P.S.
I will post a Father’s Day present from [daughter] in the next two weeks.

Will send email update.

Gods blessings for a long and joyful life with all your children.

She says se has two Mom’s.

She already identifies you fondly as her “other mother.” (How cute!)

Here are a few photos to open AFTER you open your Mother’s Day present from [daughter]! ;)

Warm regards,
[The Ex]

so I hope you don’t mind if I randomly send little outfits or books for your little ones.

God Bless.

We’re off to [city in other state]!

as scheduled with you in [daughter]’s call to you last Sunday(3/30/08).

God Bless.

Hi, [Custodial Dad].

I am happy we could set up this web-cam session. I think it is a good option.
I’m sure [daughter] will delight in the web-chat(!) this morning at 8AM.
Hope your little guys will be there to say hello to [daughter].

I understand that you were not able to enlarge [daughter]’s artwork and schoolwork I sent you.
From a tech consult, I understood that digital images would be easier to get and send
(up-loads from phones to computers, etc.).

I will gladly try to e-mail pictures , if you can get those images well,  Let me know.

For now, I will have [daughter] show you her work on the web chat this morning.
I will then follow up with a package or e-mailed samples early this week,
including the packet for next Sunday’s web chat.

[daughter]’s work sent to you is for you to share with Grand-ma and keep.

We will be off to church with [daughter]’s classmates at 8:30AM.
I will have her dressed and ready to go, so you can have as much time on-line until then.
We/You can add/change chat schedules as we need to- as we go.
For now, I think this will be a good time slot.

Kind regards to Mrs. [last name] and your children.

[daughter] will see you at 8!
Enjoy!

Per the below e-mail I respected your contacting me and did not initiate a call to [daughter] last night—and [daughter]s’ call never came—this is a pattern you seem to
follow, promise of regular and systematic contact, a feeble start and then no follow up. As to your ONE phone call at the “6-7 pm window” this came on the initial day
of “daily contact” (Thursday) and this was, as I stated in my e-mail to you a fiasco due to the fact that [daughter] was eating dinner, she and I and when you came on
the line all were in some agreement that we should talk later that night... that call never came.
I will expect a call from [daughter] today, I’ll assume that unless something really wonderfully and is worthy of a Dad-Update the call(s) will be at about 6-7pm (per
YOUR scheduling), I stress we should get in to a regular schedule and that schedule should be based on direct [daughter] comfort (i.e. a daily wind down-near bedtime)
and then yours/my schedules (work, school, activities etc), as to the very-welcomed-cute/cool-Da Da-updates she is encouraged to call day or night and update me on
anything and for any reason.
If the phone usage is an issue, I state here AGAIN that a child’s phone can be made available to [daughter] (I think [sibling]s old phone is in a drawer collecting
dust) this is an excellent mode of direct Dad (and Grand-parent, Mom)  daily and AVAILABLE contact. The phone is child safe (has NO keyboard or display number) is
parent programmable and has a 911 key for any emergency. We have found it to be a wonderful tool for [sibling] to use to call his Dad daily, while traveling with his
father or when he visits grandmas house overnight... I may be wrong but I was under the impression that on school trips children with cell phones are now encouraged to
bring them for an additional safety factor.... I would ask [Step Mother] about that though, or I would confirm that on the schools website.... and of course there
would be no bill for you as it would be on my family plan
I look forward to hearing from my daughter, I miss her, it has been a long-long three years and these hiccups in contact are a tease, I thank you for your efforts,
truly, maybe we can jump-start this and really move forward though? As her parents she deserves our all on her behalf including knowing her entire family... and
communication is obviously a huge portion of that knowledge...
