Hi, [Custodial Dad].
What is the status of the leak [daughter] described in her bedroom ceiling? She says she puts her laundry under it to catch the water from the broken shower above.
Have you been able to fix the leak?
Is it shower or toilet water leaking or hot water or water from the supply lines?  Water from such leaks can cause the ceiling to crumble.  I am concerned. Is there structural damage? Are their mold or mildew issues in [daughter] s space or in the house?  Please inform me of how you are addressing this necessary repair. It is important to all of us that [daughter] is in a healthy and safe environment as she enjoyed in our care. Please inform me of your evaluation of this damage and your actions to correct it.  I am requesting a prompt reply as these leaks and subsequent damages can be a peril. Surely you can understand my concern and interest on an update from you.
Let me know how I can help resolve the leak.
Thanks.

[The Ex]
I will tell you a story [daughter] relayed to us several times: She said that she had pig feces under her bed that sat for “weeks”. She also said that as a result, you removed all the carpeting and shoved the entire contents of her bedroom in the bathroom that remained that way even through the day she left [other state].  She has also said your home was completely disorganized with things shoved in closets, under bed and in corners.  She also stated that you allowed her a life with no structure, no bed time, no routine including allowing her to eat whatever she wanted for breakfast such as Chinese food or left over pizza. She also had large stories of moving 20 or more times...

I have never mentioned any of this to you for good reason.  The point I’m making is that through the eyes of a child, stories get bigger and bolder. I will address your concerns but realize I am a responsible adult, father and home owner.

For the record, my home is impeccably maintained with no mold or other issues, dangers or “perils” that will endanger [daughter]’s safety, health or well being.  As for your concern, [daughter]’s space is in excellent shape and my house is completely up to code and all standars of well being.

Take Care;

[Custodial Dad]

[Custodial Dad],

I cannot engage in disjointed, unfocused responses from you as we need to be efficient and speak to the point.
Please do not twist my inquiries on [daughter]’s space in your home to comment on any aspect of [daughter]’s life with me.
I can only imagine that you try to create a safe and healthy environment for [daughter].
I am inquiring to help ensure [daughter]’s room is free of the water leak she detailed.
Simply:
Please simply state if you have fixed it or not. And, what is the water source of the the leak?
That’s all.

I understand from your message that there is no mold or mildew associated with the leak.  Thanks for that.
I will be happy to try to help if repairs are needed on her ceiling.

Kindly,
[The Ex]
