Who adjusted it? [spelled incorrectly Step Mother], I guess.
When is the date for the next appointment?
Something she ate in [other state]?
Wouldn’t you want a professional to figure this out?
It is a device in her mouth. Placement is important, no?
If it is tightened and is not in the right position, since it scraped her tongue last week...an unexpected event with normal placement...would that not be something to have concern over?

Spoke with the Orthodontist once [daughter] was here.... she made no mention of any issues or discomfort and when asked, she said she had no issues with the palate extender. I examined her mouth during the adjustment of the palate extender and there was no redness, swelling or abrasions. She has her appointment soon and if the issue arises again, I will take her to see [orthodontist] prior to that but it never was an issue in 5 months... must be something she ate while in [other state].

No, I adjusted [daughter]’s palate extender as I have done so in the past and also with [daughter]’s brother over the past two years. You stated her tongue was swollen however she has not mentioned any discomfort since her arrival home. Her palate extender does not look out of place or maladjusted, her tongue does not look swollen, tender and there are no abrasions or marks on her tongue or in her mouth at all.
We are quite fluent on the extender and like I stated, we spoke with the staff at [orthodontist]’s office prior to and after her return. [daughter]’s medical professionals are comfortable with my judgements. I assure you I take her care very seriously, however I refrain from bring my children into the doctor for every sniffle as recent studies, unnecessary doctors visits do more harm than good... I am sure you can locate proper citation and medical research to understand that fact.
